2013 Senior Adam from JJ Pearce High School

I’ve had a great time photographing some senior sessions for the guys this spring.  Yeah, it’s probably a little harder to convince them to do a shoot, but I’m pretty sure they are all glad they did.

Check out this session with Adam, who jumped on my offer to use a location I had tucked in my back pocket – shooting with a bunch of vintage Thunderbirds! See guys, it isn’t all that bad.

2013 senior Nicole from JJ Pearce High School

Nicole’s session was on a beautiful day. Love her gorgeous look.  Loved getting this message from her mom before I even got home from the shoot:
“Thank you so much for today!  Besides the beautiful and amazing photos, Nicole had a blast!  We really appreciate all the time you took with her.  We look forward to seeing her photos.”

You know it’s not just the photos, but the whole experience of your session with Connie Roper Seniors that makes it a memorable time.

The day of your shoot starts off with professional make up by Autumn (if you opt for her services, which I highly recommend).  We meet at the comfortable and spacious natural light loft studio near downtown where Autumn does her magic with hair and/or make up. You can opt for one look from her or even have her stay thru the whole shoot to change your look with each outfit (so fun!).  While Autumn is working with you, I go thru your wardrobe and do any fine tuning and decide on the order of you changes, depending on our location.  We keep water, snacks and music flowing while we hang out in the loft.  After Autumn is done, we do a few images in the studio, especially some head shots and any images you might want for recruitment packages.

Then we head out to our location.  Sometimes I have an assistant meet up with us at location .  Anyway, that’s just a little peek in how we get started in our session.

Let’s get back to Nicole. . . .

2013 Senior Sydney from JJ Pearce High School

I can’t believe I haven’t shared this senior session from November!  Oh, wait. Maybe I can believe that since I have several senior sessions to blog from the fall.  The fall is such a crazy busy time – between seniors, kids, families, nice weather – it’s a wonder I got anything blogged (this is where you nod your head and think “really. how does she do it all?”). Thank you for understanding.

So anyway, this shoot was just perfection.

First, hair and make up by Autumn Cooper, my incredible MUA (make up artist).  I tell you, she has serious skills. She knows exactly how to do natural, photography makeup with just enough pizazz to make it totally you.  She never makes all the girls look alike, her make up lasts the whole session and she’s cute and fun!

Sydney opted to have Autumn do her hair as well.  Good call.  Her hair was so fabulous – just enough of the wave, curl, messed-up up look to go perfectly with her clothing and the setting.  Sydney brought super cute outfits plus a punch of bright color with a red dress.

Then to top it all off, I had just discovered this fab location and Sydney and her mom trusted me to shoot their session there.   So perfect, all these images were shot on one block and on a late Sunday afternoon (my favorite session time), not a soul was around.

Thanks, Sydney.

princess project: part 2

Part two of my personal project (see part 1 here).  We shot this session last October and the weather kind of turned on us later in the day. But I found the best location and this model is just  perfect.

So perfect, in fact, she played Belle in the musical production of Beauty and the Beast.  Big thanks for your help, Taylor!

HAPPY VALENTINE”S DAY 2013!!!
